Atmospheric scientists have found that Rainfall is able to calm the convectively unstable atmosphere....!

They calculate that a substantial portion of the energy that drives wind and air circulation in the atmosphere is dissipated as friction by raindrops falling through the air.

Some of the dissipation of mechanical energy happens when a falling raindrop (or snowflake or hailstone) experiences friction as it passes through the surrounding air.

    Dear AKMN,
    Your idea of science sharing is very nice......Why we cannot think of a website which will describe every steps of installing different softwares such as grads, matlab etc. Also that should include different programs and gs files which will be useful for the community.....

Solar Eclipse over Tirupati 09 Mar 2016 (simulated)

Solar Eclipse (09 Mar 2016) is hardly visible over Tirupati. Here is an animated version (Figure (a)) of the simulation I have prepared using the free open source "Stellarium" software. The Sun rises over Tirupati by 06:23 IST. Meanwhile eclipse has already begun and being in penumbra region, it's partial eclipse over here.
